Milford Boulder Wall
We built this boulder wall to hold up a driveway in Milford, Michigan. We have 8″ thick of 6a round stone behind the geotextile fabric which acts as a drain for this wall. The driveway sheds water towards the wall. The water enters into the 6a and travels vertically to the bottom of the wall never affecting the stability of the boulders. We used 2-3′ sized boulders for this wall and the wall is over 8′ tall and 60 feet long. Below the bottom course of the boulders we installed 12″ of compacted 21aa limestone as our base. If you build the wall properly it will never fail. Call me direct at 248.866.4887.
